Forced Oscillators & Resonance
The apparatus consists of a mass attached to a spring, which is connected to a cord passing over a pulley and further connected to a drive wheel. The frequency of the drive wheel is displayed in “Hertz” on control unit display. Mass on the spring can be made to oscillate free or when damped in a tube of water. The system can be driven at various frequencies and the amplitude can be measured with a scale.
Features:
- System can be driven at various frequencies.
- Bright LED display for frequency.
- Easy to measure Amplitude .
- Mass on the spring oscillates free or damped in water.
Experiments:
- To investigate resonance in forced oscillations.
- To find spring constant of a spring.
