Determining the Velocity of Sound in Gases
The experiment P1.7.3.4 determines the velocity of sound c in carbon dioxide and in the inert gases helium and neon. The evaluation demonstrates that the great differences in the velocities of sound of gases are essentially due to the different densities of the gases.
