Ultrasound of the Gallbladder
Examination of a gallbladder model with various disease patterns using the ultrasound B-mode technique
Introduction to imaging ultrasound diagnostics based on the B-mode technique by examining a gallbladder model with simulated gallbladder disease patterns
Keywords: Ultrasound imaging, B-mode, array probe, gallbladder, gallstones, gravel deposits, artifacts
Ultrasound imaging based on the B-mode method is an important tool in medical diagnostics. Similar to X-rays or MRI, the B-mode method provides cross-sectional images of the internal structure of an organism without exposing it to radiation. In the experiment, the possibilities and limitations of the B-mode method can be examined and the basic handling of an ultrasound B-mode device can be trained. The object of the study is an ultrasound model consisting of a block with enclosed gallbladders. These simulate various gallbladder diseases such as gallstones, thickening of the bladder wall or deposits of bile gravel.
