Holmarc’s Educational spectrophotometer / Monochromator (Model no: HO-ED-S-08) is an educational instrument for analysis of transmittance / absorption spectroscopy studies. It characterizes the spectrum of different Monochromatic / polychromatic sources. It’s a flexible model which students get better understanding of the working principles of spectrometer. All modules are deliberately made open and easy to understand. Students gain hands on experience in the basics of spectroscopy.
A pecisized angle based movement with display will help the students to create dedicated software in lab view / mat lab. For absorption studies KMnO4 powder provide as a standard reference. Tungsten halogen lamp is provided as a standard source. Photo diode with multimeter is works as the detector. Diffuser screen is provided for direct observations.
Experiment:
- Works as a standard Monochromator at wavelength range 400 - 1000 nm
- Works as a spectrophotometer for transmittance / Absorption measurements
- Absorption band spectra studies using KMnO4 solution
- Students can work on lab view by controlling angle display unit encoder
