OPTIKA Rolling Marbles and Cylinders, Strange Accelerations
In order to study dynamics in the high school physics courses, teachers use different models, such as particle material and other abstract notions that have little to do with the experimental reality. But when we want to turn the theoretical analysis (that is carried out with reference to mathematical models) into a real laboratory experiment, as for example using a cart, we obtain unsatisfactory results. With this device we will study the dynamics of rolling.
